Cano Health is a company that totally neglects their patients. When you call, nobody ever gets back to you. Their so called patient care should be called patient neglect. After several attempts over a period of 5 days, nobody has returned my calls. I have been a patient of Dr. Pena for over 30 years and I love him, but now I have to find a different primary because I am so disgusted with Cano Health's non response. This place is deplorable, and don't care about their patients. On two occasions I called the emergency/after hours number because I had a sinus infection, and Covid. No after hours physician, or nurse practitioner ever returned my call. They Don't care! I had to call an outside telehealth service called PlushCare for help. I'm done with Cano Pines & Pembroke
By far the worst this is strictly a business and all they care is about the $$$. I called their "emergency " number (a call center you can hear the other person and can't hear the person attending you) for my two elderly parents @ 9:30 am. It's 2:37pm and I have not heard from them or the doctor who is supposed to call. To get my parents primary physician, it's like trying to call Joe Biden they transfer here and there and everywhere. AVOID CANO HEALTH AT ALL COST
My story is very long, so I won't give you the whole details of this one month of waiting and several phone calls I have made and still not taking care and in a lot of pain. I am not getting the Doctor's orders( after I spoke with her and she said that was the next step to take). Driver in van was driving recklessly. He almost hit my vehicle while he was making a right onto N UNIVERSITY DR and then sped to make the next left, cutting off vehicles, speeding and not using his turning lane. This occurred on 7-15-22 at approximately 2pm. Please drive safe.
If I could give it zero stars I would. When you call it goes to a call center. Then you're on hold for 30 minutes waiting for an operator.when someone answers they put you on hold again. Then after waiting they say they can't connect you with office you need. They've done it in the past. Getting a simple referral is an hours long process and then they don't always do it. We moved to the area and were looking for a new doctor. We selected the office at 8967 Taft Street because it was convenient. Signing up as a new patient was extremely difficult. I had to make six calls back-and-forth between the new office and my old doctors office to try to get medical records faxed. Every time I called Cano Health I was given a different phone number and different information. What can I say. Dr Vargas incredibly unprofessional , rude and disrespectful. He is willing to put his patients in danger for not prescribing a refill to a medication that I been taking for 10+ years now. I have 2 refills left and the insurance policy changed for the new year so I had to come back to the office . Doctor wasted my time and left me in danger of my life . This place should be shut down. I will be getting my lawyer involved in this situation.
